Royal Opening For Wivenhoe House
His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent KG has officially opened Wivenhoe House hotel.
The Duke of Kent toured the magnificently restored 18th Century main house and talked to the team of dedicated professionals and aspiring managers who are passionate about the luxury hotel and offering guests high levels of service.
Leaders from the hospitality industry flocked to the opening, keen to see the intriguingly different hotel for themselves. Wivenhoe House is home to the UK’s first hotel school where experienced staff are supported by students on degree level courses in hotel management and culinary studies.
The Duke of Kent toured the elegant main house and talked with staff and students before having lunch, prepared by Executive Chef Paul Boorman, in the hotel’s Signatures Restaurant. The Duke of Kent was joined by other notable guests including the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Petre, and MP for Harwich and North Essex Bernard Jenkin.
